This is a nice little shot that occasionally crops up but is rarely played. It’s rarely played because it’s not a high percentage shot and there’s usually alternatives from the same position, usually a Cannon or a safety shot. However if you already have the game in the bag or you’re feeling confident it’s a crowd pleaser if you manage to pull it off successfully.

To make this shot it’s a fine balance between contact point and pace. Too hard and the cue ball will throw wide and too thin it will hit the near cushion before the pocket. It’s what I would call a feel shot.
