Rob has won two titles in recent consecutive weekends.
The first of these titles was the 2018 Jersey Open at The First Tower Billiards and Snooker Club in St. Helier over the early May bank holiday weekend. Whilst the scorching sun beat down on St. Helier beach a good field of 24 players did battle on what were 6 of the finest tables in the lovely First Tower Club, Rob played a high standard of Billiards right from the get go hitting a 256 break in his first match. This standard of play continued throughout the weekend with Rob making a total of 12 centuries 5 of which were double centuries on his way to winning this event for the 7th consecutive year. Rob beat the ever improving Nathan Mann in the 60 minute final 549-60.
The second of the recent titles Rob has claimed was the English Matchplay Championship at The North East Derbyshire Snooker Center in Clay Cross. This was a short format, best of three 100up event that attracted 33 entries. Rob’s good form continued as he won the event without dropping a game and along the way made four 100 unfinished breaks. This win in what was the final EABA event of the season sealed the No.1 ranking spot for Rob in their annual ranking list.
Rob now heads over to The Ivy Rooms in Carlow, Ireland on Friday 18th May to compete in the WBL Irish and European Opens. He then returns to the U.K on the 23rd May before heading over to Singapore and Melbourne, Australia on the 29th May to compete in the WBL Asian Grand Prix and the Pacific International events.
